Retirement Plans
Retirement plans are powerful. They can help employers attract and retain the right talent. More importantly, they can help participants prepare for a successful retirement. They can also be time consuming and costly to plan sponsors.
As independent consultants on corporate retirement plans, The Amato-Buxton Group at Baird serves a growing number institutional clientele. We have a strong focus within the Oregon business community, but our reach spans the entire county. We provide oversight on all aspects of your companies retirement benefit. We understand plan sponsors are extremely busy and that the 401(k) Plan is a small part of your job, but it is a full time job. The consultant’s two most important functions in the governance process, beyond the obvious roles of investment oversight and participant education, are to help draw the lines and fill the gaps. We’ll quarterback for the plan and help identify the fiduciaries and draw clear line between them, identifying roles and responsibilities of each.
The Amato-Buxton Group is a key member of Baird’s Qualified Plan Consulting Group (QPCG), an exclusive collaboration of Financial Advisors who have dedicated their business to retirement plan clients. Baird recognizes that qualified plan consultation is a highly specialized field requiring years of experience and depth of knowledge. We have obtained the Qualified Plan Financial Consultant (QPFC), Chartered Retirement Plan Specialists (CRPS) designations. To earn these credentials, one must demonstrate a proficiency in the knowledge of plan administration, compliance, investments, fiduciary, and ethics issues, and the completion of continuing education courses is required to maintain each credential.
